Today I visited yet another temple. What can I say, they are relaxing and beautiful. This temple is across the street from the main Chiang Mai University campus, so I thought it would be a nice stop after my trip to the art museum. But, the weather was perfect, the lighting excellent, and the clouds magnificent, so I turned around and made this my first stop.
On the southern side of the old town, just inside the wall and moat is a flower market. I haven’t seen it before, so either I’ve overlooked it, or it isn’t there every day. I happened to be driving by it and couldn’t help but be drawn by its colors. Continue reading
Universally beloved in Thailand, Queen Sirikit’s 81st birthday was celebrated throughout Thailand yesterday. Every city in Thailand held festivals and events to honor the queen. Her birthday (and Mother’s Day, not coincidentally) is a national holiday in Thailand. Plaza’s throughout the country were filled will singing, dancing, stages shows, food, and fireworks.
